New pieces and MANY exciting shows and events and upcoming!

It’s the busy season!   So many great events!  One of my absolute FAVORITES is South Park Arts ART UNDER 100.  This is a MUST attend event for all art lovers in the greater Seattle area (heck, all of Washington – it’s worth a couple hour drive!) and will once again be at the Seattle Design Center on December 10th from 2-8pm.  As the name implies… all art is priced under $100.  And this is GREAT art from 70 artists!

Can’t wait until then?  You don’t have to?   Depending upon where you live there are so many great places!  Visit artEAST Gallery in Issaquah, Rusty Raven in Kent, Pioneer Cafe in North Bend, SnoValley Art Gallery in Snoqualmie and currently on display at the Columbia Winery in Woodinville.  Looking ahead I will be showing my larger scale and one of a kind mixed media pieces at Vetiver Salon in Issaquah during the months of December and January.  Don’t live near any of these?   I can ship!  Don’t see exactly what you want?  I do custom pieces!

Want to learn a little more about my process and have fun making your own block print?  Take a Print and Sip class with me at artEAST!  www.arteast.org/2016/07/print-and-sip-night/

Yesterday I started my morning at 5:45 am sketching out a couple of new pieces for my OZ and Wonderland series.  I finished carving them last night but won’t have a chance to print them until tonight after work.  Can’t wait!!!!

I just finished this piece to submit to an exhibition entitled “Do my eyes deceive me”.  It was a very fun piece to make – requiring use of my jigsaw, drill and my dremel!  Love having to use tools!!!!

Will let you know if I get in!

************UPDATE 6.9.12 –  I just received my acceptance e-mail so this piece is in! ************************

So much to talk about!

I’ve been a busy, busy artist!  Where to start?

artEAST had the Opening Reception for 150ft of ART (annual Spring Fundraiser) and I’ve been on the committee making it all happen.  I really enjoyed making my piece for it, incorporating some metal work in with my block print.  It’s entitled “Our Sanctuary”.    Here’s a link to the show:  http://arteast.org/2012/04/150-feet-preview/

More fun artEAST news…  I’ve been accepted to the May/June show – Creature Comforts.  My piece is “Bed of Gold”, a tribute to those furry friends I love so much.

Lastly, I have been approached by the education coordinator at artEAST about teaching some classes.  I’m going to start with a Beginning Book Arts class.  Here’s some samples I made for advertising the class:
