These are a lot of work from cutting down, sanding and making the frames to drawing, carving, painting and then inking up the woodblocks.  I really enjoy making them!

UPDATE!!!!!! Look for this body of work at DragonFire Gallery in Cannon Beach OR!!!!! Honored to have my woodcarvings at such a wonderful gallery!

Upcoming Exhibition and Events!

Posted in ARTUNDER100, Printmaking, Seattleartist, Southparkart on November 2, 2018 by moon

Hard to believe it’s already November!   I have some big events coming up so I’m in full show prep mode (although when am I not making art?!).

First is my featured artist show at Columbia City Gallery.  The exhibition is titled “My Other Story”.  It runs from November 14 through January 6.
Opening reception is Saturday November 17 from 5-7.  Please join me and see this phenomenal gallery I’m so honored to be a part of!
I’ll be sharing the exhibition space with the amazingly talented Di Faria, Carol Hershman, Elinor Maroney and Olivia Zapata.

On Saturday November 24th I’ll be at Anne Anderson’s fabulous annual studio sale along with David Lutrick and Bradley Spencer Stearns.  Address: 750 Kalmia Ct NW Issaquah, WA 98027 Note:  event goes until 6pm but I’ll have to leave at 3pm due to lack of childcare for Trevor.

Lastly, an event I look forward to every year!  South Park Arts Art Under 100 at the Seattle Design Center!
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH
2-8 PM FREE AND OPEN TO ALL!
There are still tickets available for the 1-2pm VIP Hour!  I highly recommend this.  For just $20 you get champagne, chocolates and the ability to have first dibs on art from 73 Seattle area artists! http://www.southparkarts.org/art-under-100/

Ive recently started to incorporate woodcarving in with my linocuts.  I’m loving the process and the outcomes!

Also, living over 1000feet elevation is harder to grow real flowers so making some instant flowers for my garden!

No, it’s not a title to a country song.  It’s the reason I haven’t made a ton of art the last couple months.

Walter is growing up fast and I received a cortisone shot so I’m able to have art time again!!!

New pieces and MANY exciting shows and events and upcoming!

It’s the busy season!   So many great events!  One of my absolute FAVORITES is South Park Arts ART UNDER 100.  This is a MUST attend event for all art lovers in the greater Seattle area (heck, all of Washington – it’s worth a couple hour drive!) and will once again be at the Seattle Design Center on December 10th from 2-8pm.  As the name implies… all art is priced under $100.  And this is GREAT art from 70 artists!

Can’t wait until then?  You don’t have to?   Depending upon where you live there are so many great places!  Visit artEAST Gallery in Issaquah, Rusty Raven in Kent, Pioneer Cafe in North Bend, SnoValley Art Gallery in Snoqualmie and currently on display at the Columbia Winery in Woodinville.  Looking ahead I will be showing my larger scale and one of a kind mixed media pieces at Vetiver Salon in Issaquah during the months of December and January.  Don’t live near any of these?   I can ship!  Don’t see exactly what you want?  I do custom pieces!

Want to learn a little more about my process and have fun making your own block print?  Take a Print and Sip class with me at artEAST!  www.arteast.org/2016/07/print-and-sip-night/

Yesterday I started my morning at 5:45 am sketching out a couple of new pieces for my OZ and Wonderland series.  I finished carving them last night but won’t have a chance to print them until tonight after work.  Can’t wait!!!!
